Access Control

Access control refers to any system which offers the capability to control and monitor authorised/unauthorised access of staff, visitors and trespassers to the perimeter of a facility, or to secure areas within a facility.

Access control systems provide greater security for staff and visitors, while restricting access to high security or confidential areas, and can be integrated with a number of other security systems including CCTV, door entry systems, intruder alarms, ANPR and fire systems.

Wireless Infrastructure

Utilising a secure wireless infrastructure in conjunction with IP CCTV systems can make the deployment of multiple cameras much easier, less disruptive and more cost-effective.

This is because there is no need for challenging cabling installations so long as there is unobstructed air space between the camera, the receiver and the control station.

Control Room

Specialising in control room integration, CDS provides all the ergonomic furniture, hardware and software required to successfully integrate and take control of a complex security system.

CDS-supplied video walls are comprised of individual display devices, placed edge-to-edge to produce a larger, unified display.

They can be upscaled easily by adding displays horizontally or vertically, and they can be configured to display video and/or data signals.

Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR)

Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) software can be used to guard national security, assist the police in monitoring vehicle movements, or simply make sure that no unauthorised cars gain access to a private parking facility.

ANPR system cameras capture car number plates and relay the information back to a central database. If a number is recognised, a pre-set instruction can be activated such as lifting a parking barrier or having a vehicle’s movements recorded.

Perimeter Intruder Detection Systems (PIDS)

Perimeter Intruder Detection Systems (PIDS) are integrated systems designed to raise an alarm or initiate CCTV recording should an intruder enter a restricted area. Once a sensor raises an alarm the cameras will automatically record activity in the appropriate area.

PIDS are popular set-ups in areas of national security, such as government facilities or secure utilities sites such as waterworks. In these instances, the system can raise an alarm, alert control room staff or even directly contact police or security forces.

Other uses include linking to access control systems in hospitals, or safeguarding education facilities. The key to a successful PIDS is system integration – our area of expertise.

Network or Digital Video Recording (NVR/DVR)

Network or Digital Video Recording (NVR/DVR) equipment offers higher quality images that don’t degrade over time, as well as easier and more efficient playback and search capabilities, plus greater flexibility and efficiency of functionality – resulting in lower running costs, ease of integration and future-proof technology.

With DVR, control room staff or police officers are able to track events and individuals over time and place, helping to piece together evidence following a crime.

Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) or (IP CCTV)

Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) remains an extremely popular tool to help reduce crime and protect public spaces, organisations, personal property and the public themselves – because it’s a proven and effective deterrent. It is also a vital tool in terms of aiding police in the identification and prosecution of offenders.

CDS can integrate CCTV systems with access control solutions, passive monitors, intruder alarms and fire systems. We can offer digital or analogue systems, and are even able to offer systems which integrate the two (ideal for expansions or upgrades to existing systems).

IP CCTV makes functionality less expensive by using standard internet/network technologies, allowing for cost-effective remote recording and integration with the wireless infrastructure systems which CDS often designs and installs.
